Mareisha Winters Reese
Description

More organizations are recognizing that BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) owned firms are more often undercapitalized and underutilized due to systemic racism. As organizations make commitments toward racial justice it often includes working with diverse suppliers, but at what cost? There are “rules” that create undue barriers for BIPOC companies. What does it mean to create justice-centered policies and processes that address past barriers endured by BIPOC organizations? The “that’s just how we do things here” and “one size fits all” approaches must go. Join Mareisha N. Reese as she shares real life examples of the undue burdens placed on BIPOC companies engaging in business with larger organizations and discuss strategies on how to reduce them.
