Description

Inclusion work today often means navigating competing pressures. People want to belong but may fear vulnerability. Organizations express support for inclusion while also pulling back. Practitioners face resistance, doubt, overload, and mixed signals. These challenges can feel frustrating, but they can also be seen as part of predictable paradoxes—tensions that can’t be solved, only worked with.

In this interactive session, participants will apply a simple paradox framework to their own real, current dilemmas to see their challenges in a new way. Through small-group “paradox clinics,” guided reflection, and shared sense-making, attendees will explore what each side of their tension is trying to protect, how over-focusing on one pole can create unintended consequences, and what more balanced, integrated approaches can look like. Participants will leave with greater clarity, steadiness, and practical strategies for advancing inclusion in moments of uncertainty and pushback.
