Description
In the aftermath of 9/11, American Muslims felt the onslaught of Islamophobia, later heightened during the Trump presidency. Black Muslims, however, carried a history and integrated identity in the United States that resisted Islamophobia and offered their immigrant Muslim counterparts tools to demonstrate their sense of being and belonging in America. This presentation will provide a window into this dialogue and exchange, thereby educating and empowering other Americans to identify and dismantle Islamophobia in their workspaces.
