Justice for all is not just a pledge. It's a vision. It's a commitment. It's action. The Second Annual Racial Justice at Work Summit is exploring who we need to be, what we need to know, and what we need to do to make justice for all a reality. 

Members of our community have expressed concerns about the timing of The Winters Group’s 2024 Racial Justice at Work Summit, which coincides with Passover, a major Jewish holiday that commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery. As the Founder and CEO of The Winters Group, I take ownership of this oversight and humbly thank those who shared their concerns with us. I apologize for this regrettable mistake and recognize the impact, especially now with the abhorring rise in antisemitism in our country. 

While we cannot change our dates, we have plans to recognize Passover on the first day of the summit with a virtual multicultural Seder. We are also organizing sessions on antisemitism. In these especially troubling times, we are committed to not only acknowledging but also ensuring that we address the history of exclusion and hate faced by the Jewish community and other groups with education and empathy at the summit. 

I would like to again apologize for this misstep. Thank you all for your unwavering commitment to justice.

3 Virtual Days of Inspiration, Innovation, and Connection

Day 1: Setting the Record Straight

The stars we wish on, dream by, and navigate with are the same stars our ancestors saw long ago. The first day of the Summit we will explore the idea of Sankofa. This term comes from the Asante Twi language of the Akan people of Ghana and describes the belief that we must remember and learn from the past to build the future. The path towards justice for ALL has been long and winding. Join us as we listen, remember, and learn from the lessons of the past to help shape our collective vision of the future, where justice for all is a reality. 

Day 2: Unmute and Speak Your Truth

When we are heard we are empowered and, in turn, empower others. It might seem that voices driven by fear, ignorance, or hatred are the loudest, shouting over others. By lifting our voices together, we assure we won't be silenced. Day 2 confronts us with today's reality: Together we need to speak boldly into our truths and tell our stories. We will strategize together how we can respond to resistance and address the backpedaling, retracting, and flat-out failure to honor diversity, equity, and justice commitments so many organizations made. We will address the realities impacting the present and lift up the voices of marginalized people who are fighting for change. 

Day 3: And Still We Rise

As we reimagine a new future that centers equity and justice, where all people are celebrated for their authentic selves, we will be constructing a bold new conception of what is possible. Courageously, we will rise together to break down visible and invisible systems of oppression that are holding us back from our long-held vision of the future — a vision of justice for all.

3 Tracks to Fill Your Cup

All sessions and keynotes are included with your registration. We categorized sessions into three tracks to help you plan your live virtual experience more efficiently.

Being

Our “Being” track will explore self-awareness, well-being, and the ways physical, mental, and spiritual health allow us to show up at the table as our full, authentic selves and have Bold, Inclusive Conversations® in the face of polarization and resistance.

Knowing

Our “Knowing” track will remind us of some hard-learned lessons of the past while providing the opportunity to expand our understanding of cultures and norms that can influence how we see the future. 

Doing

The “Doing” track will offer experiences and advice from those bravely forging the path forward to inspire us with ways we can use our spheres of influence for change.

Throughout the summit, we'll have performances from artists who teach, uplift, and energize. From spoken word poetry to traditional hoop and powwow dances, these artistic performances will leave you inspired to continue making justice for all a reality. Do you need support to attend?

If the registration fees present a hardship or you need financial support to attend, The Winters Group, in partnership with our generous sponsors, will be providing a limited number of financial awards to those who request support. You can use this form for your request. Notifications will be made on a rolling basis, and all awards are on a first come, first served basis.

FAQ

  1. Will the summit be recorded?
    • Yes! The summit sessions are being recorded, and your registration entitles you to access them for 90 days once they become available.
  2. How will I be able to access the recorded sessions?
    • Once the summit is complete, you will receive an email outlining how to access the recorded content. Your registration entitles you to 90 days of access once they are available.
  3. Why are tickets non-refundable?
    • We have worked hard to keep this summit as affordable as possible. The administrative cost and fees to refund tickets would mean we would have to raise registration prices. Even for those who are unable to attend the sessions live, those who registered will still have access to all recorded sessions for 90 days once they are available. 
  4. How do I sponsor a scholarship for an additional attendee?
    • During registration there is a "pay it forward" option where you can choose to contribute to a fund to sponsor additional attendees by adding an additional dollar am0unt to your registration. This money goes into our community giving pool and will be provided to people requesting support on a first-come, first-served basis. Any amount that remains unclaimed after the summit will be donated to the Live Inclusively® Actualized grant fund for BIPOC charitable organizations.
  5. Are any sessions in person?
    • No. This is a 100% virtual event. 
  6. How do I find the agenda?
    • Once the agenda is available, you will receive an email to choose your sessions and tracks. It will be updated as new speakers and sessions are added. All sessions will be included in the ticket price.
  7. How do I cancel my registration?
    • This is a non-refundable event; your registration cannot be canceled. You are not obligated to attend live and will still have access to the recorded summit for 90 days after they become available.
  8. What if I can't attend? Can I still contribute to the "pay-it-forward" efforts?
    • ​​​​​​​If you can't attend live, we encourage you to consider purchasing a ticket. All tickets include 90-days of post-event access once the recordings are available and posted. If you still can't attend and would to help provide financial support to others, you can contribute to the pay-it-forward fund here
