Dr. Zahra Khosroshahi is an Associate Professor in Film and Television Studies at University of Glasgow. She is currently working on her forthcoming monograph Iranian Women Filmmakers: A Cinema of Resistance (Edinburgh University Press). Zahra’s research explores how film challenges systems of power, and how filmmaking specifically functions as a form of resistance in Iran. Zahra’s research and passion for cinema has also taken her to Iran, Turkey, Japan and the UK, where she has worked with young artists, filmmakers, and universities to encourage more diversity in films and film screenings.
