Description

History and our personal experiences shape our perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes about other communities of color. These multiple truths exist in tension with one another. What if we name white supremacy as the root of racial divide, stratification, and violence between communities of color but do not center it? We will examine anti-Blackness and the theory of colorblind racism and racial hierarchy in the U.S., highlighting significant moments and studies in research. As we dive into our connected and often erased or unknown histories of solidarity and harm, we will begin to widen our gaze, forming a more complete picture of our tied humanity in order to heal, co-exist, and thrive.
