As at least 18 states restrict teaching on race and gender and the new U.S. administration seeks to reframe American history, ensuring public access to historical context is more crucial than ever for an informed citizenry. In this panel discussion spanning various forms of communication, from marketing to journalism to education, we’ll explore examples of pivotal moments throughout history related to race, gender, LGBTQ+ rights, disability inclusion, and the intersecting implications. Attendees will take away resources for contextualizing the importance of inclusion work along with examples of effective ways to condense and synthesize historical nuance for more impactful storytelling that inspires action. Applications include, but are not limited to: learning and development, marketing materials, presentations, and other communications related to promoting equity and inclusion.
