What does it mean to be BOLD in a time like this? It means choosing courage over silence. It means standing up when others are retreating. It means having the conversations that many want to avoid about the issues that impact our workplaces, our communities, and our future. Avoiding polarizing topics, like race, doesn’t make them disappear or negate their impact. It just makes it harder and longer to make the necessary change toward a better future.
Drawing on our work on Black fatigue and Bold, Inclusive Conversations®, we’ll explore what it takes to consistently show up and engage in difficult conversations, even when it feels hard, or the path forward feels uncertain. Race and racism don’t just impact one group of people. When we fail to create spaces and systems that are truly equitable, it ultimately harms everyone. A brave future isn’t one we wait for. It’s something we create, through the conversations we’re willing to have and the courage we bring to them.
