Description

As equity practitioners and facilitators, we recognize that we sit at the cross-section of being both students and leaders. For us, equity, inclusion, and anti-racist leadership require ongoing self-reflection, awareness of our biases, and continuous practice. The exchange between ourselves as institutional leaders and our growth is an important intersection that can have immense positive impact if developed with intention and in community. This interactive session anchored in participants collective wisdom will deploy various modalities such as written prompts, discussion questions, and public speaking. By learning about Public Narrative and sharing our “Stories of Self,” we will harness lived experiences to cultivate inclusive environments. We will also discuss how the NYC Comptroller's Office applies an equity lens to all our work. Participants will engage in activities designed to challenge us to look deeper within ourselves, allowing us to lead with humanity and integrity
