Speaker Bio
Michelle has been dedicated to enriching and advancing the careers of women and diverse professionals for over two decades, with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. As a transformational career and whole-life coach, she prides herself on understanding the roadblocks—both real and imagined—that slow or derail the career progression of highly thoughtful, intelligent, and well-connected professionals. In the DEIB space, which can be fraught with obstacles, indecision, and a lack of resources, Michelle helps her clients find and integrate the many versions of ‘self’ necessary to feel truly successful in both life and career. She has been instrumental in creating the space and depth for her clients to reach career heights and places of joy they didn’t believe were possible by sharing tools and strategies that provide deeper levels of resilience and grit as they tackle serious and sensitive issues, even in environments where resistance is strong.
Michelle started her legal career as a corporate associate at two top-tier global NYC law firms before moving in-house. Given her extensive experience, which includes a 25-year corporate career culminating in her role as Sr. Vice President and General Counsel of a Fortune 15 company, Michelle knows what it takes to capture and maintain the attention of colleagues, mentors, sponsors, and business prospects, effectively turning contacts into clients. Her coaching on leadership, communication styles, executive presence, confidence awareness, and self-promotion has propelled those who work with her into new positions of greater authority and power, along with the associated financial rewards.
In addition, Michelle is the Founder and CEO of La Maison Michelle, a Caribbean retreat venue in Barbados. At this serene location, she hosts retreats focused on professional development, team building, and the critical importance of rest, resilience, rejuvenation, and self-care. These retreats not only foster professional growth but also provide a much-needed sanctuary for participants to strategize, recharge and reflect. Attendees leave feeling renewed, equipped with fresh insights and strategies to navigate their careers with greater confidence and effectiveness.
